The store you mentioned in Via del Babuino is probably Cesari, via del Babuino connects Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo. Cesari has exquisit fabrics and linens, but it's also very very expensive. There is one fabric shop in Largo Argentina, it overlooks the ruins, close to the intersection with Via delle Botteghe Oscure, and there is one.
